Chocolate Chip Brownies

  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 10 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup turbinado sugar (granulated sugar will also work)
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cups cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (I use milk chocolate chips)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare an 11×7 inch baking with by lining with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, sift together flour and baking powder, set aside.

  4. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugars, cocoa and salt. Mixture will be a bit grainy.

  6. Whisk milk and vanilla extract into cocoa mixture until fully incorporated. Add eggs to mixture, one at a time, whisking until smooth.

  8. Slowly add flour mixture, whisking continuously until fully incorporated.

  10. Using a wooden spoon, fold in chocolate chips. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until a fork inserted into the center comes out clean.
