Green Tomato and Peach Salsa
Blight!! I hate it! Next year I am going to try to mulch heavily with hay. It is caused by a soil borne pathogen, so maybe that will help. I adore summer tomatoes.

How to Build a Chicago-Style Hot Dog
What a great commentary on FBDO. I have not been able to watch it since I became an adult. I grew up in South Bend, Indiana, about 2 hours east of Chicago, and got to spend some time in the windy city. South Bend also has a lot of ethnic diversity, and celebrates Dyngus day, which is the day after Easter, each year with sausages. I have no further explanation of what Dyngus day is, and have never found anyone else who knew either!

Welsh Rarebit Burgers
the woven bacon quilt is back! I adore that picture. would like to carry a copy in my purse. maybe an enlargement for over the fireplace. it is so beautiful!

Chocolate Molasses Cookies
That’s a lovely story. How great that your mom was there to greet you when you got home. I hated school from day on. Very wise of you to find things to like about school. I just wanted to be at home curled up in a big chair with a book. The coming of fall always stirred fear and dread in my heart. How great to be an adult and embrace what is now my favorite season.

Zucchini Bread
This looks SO delightful. My zucchini has succumbed to the heat and drought but I am headed to the farmers market and will get some. I have to limit my carbs (so boring) but I like the fact that this has whole wheat flour. I am going to try it with straight up whole wheat flour.
