Hmmm … interesting. And on the menu for Sunday morning. Because I am not eating wheat gluten not because I’ve been diagnosed with gluten intolerance, but because the eliminating of wheat improves my arthritis x1000. That said, most of the alternative recipes are lacking. Witness the web-side hysteria over “Oopsie Rolls.” They are a dreadful soft, fluffy, type of pseudo bread, alleged by those who’ve never eaten actual good bread as a suitable substitute for everything from sandwich slices to hamburger buns. Nasty. I have made a sort of pancake with eggs, cream cheese, vanilla, etc. They’re fairly tasty, though thin and not very bready. A nice conveyance from plate to mouth for large quantities of butter and sugar. But these … your photo makes it look as if they actually have some substance, some fluff. Is this true? I can’t imagine it, but I’ll give it a shot.

Deviled Eggs, Three Ways
I’m kind of horrified that you would pass on standard church picnic type deviled eggs. I’ve never met a deviled egg I did not like, though some are better than others and these look delicious. My own version is very hot with dry mustard, light on mayonnaise, and fat with yolky goodness owing to discarding about 20{3d9e2dd3ff4a6ad7c579f6992fba32c39af0ae46cb1a0bfdb9adec03cc9df88f} of the whites. I love LOVE them and always feel honored when someone brings them to a potluck. Among all the deli purchased items that make up the modern day bring-something supper, deviled eggs, which are fairly labor intensive, stand out. Yum. Off to boil some eggs.

Can you actually bite through this mound of lusciousness? Or does the thick outer wall of the pepper prevent tooth puncture, making it necessary to tug and pull, thereby ending up with whole hot pepper slapping against one’s chin?

I could make quite a fine analogy there, taking into consideration the previous comments. I’ll forgo that in the hope of finding out how you roast peppers to softness. I can’t seem to do it.

oh how delicious!!! i love beef patties, love the “pattie man” riding along on his bicycle, calling out “patteeeee! patteeee!” (which sound i first heard riding a bicycle down the Blue Mountains in Jamaica, hearing the patteeeee, which sounded like fatteeeeee, which annoyed me ~ how rude! ~ and not even all that applicable at that point in life. far more so now, alas.) never thought of making them. will do this weekend. a little bit of jamaica smack in the middle of tulsa, ok. lovely.
